Barbara Wisnewski Smith '62
For outstanding volunteer service
loyalty to the Alumni Association and
the University
Barbara has dedicated countless hours of service to the Alumni Association and the University community. In addition to serving three full terms on the Alumni Executive Board, Barbara has actively supported the development and implementation of multiple alumni programs and fundraiser efforts, including Saturday Semester and Alumni Phonathons.

Alumni Recognition Award
Judy Goff Roveda '66
For outstanding achievement in a
profession or service to the Church
or community.
A visionary leader, Judy spent decades fighting for workers' rights and economic justice. Judy was statewide President of SEIU Local 535, and became the first woman to lead a major labor council in California when she became President of the Alameda County Labor Council in 1983. Under her leadership, the Council fought successfully for passage of living wage ordinances in Berkeley, Hayward and Oakland. In 2009, Judy was inducted into the Alameda County Women's Hall of Fame.

Dr. Fay L. Bower, Chair of the Department of Nursing, is an award-winning healthcare professional and critically-lauded professor. Amongst her many awards and professional affiliations, in 2009 Cambridge Who's Who recognized Dr. Bower for demonstrating a lifetime of dedication, leadership and excellence in healthcare education.
